When we were children, we studied many different subjects. Bengali, English, mathematics, science, history, geography, economics, and social science were all part of our education.
At that age, many of us probably wondered why we needed to study so many subjects. We might have thought that most of them would never be useful in our everyday lives.
But as we grow older, we begin to understand something important: life itself is a combination of countless subjects.
Life Is a Different Kind of Education
School and college teach us theories, formulas, facts, and concepts. But life teaches us how to apply knowledge when there is no textbook to provide the answer.
One day, we may need to understand politics. Another day, we may have to think about economics, personal finance, business, or technology. At other times, we have to deal with relationships, society, responsibility, ethics, and difficult decisions.
There is no single textbook that teaches us how to handle all of these situations.
That is why life often feels more difficult than our formal education.
Knowledge Makes Us Stronger, But Not Fearless
Education certainly makes us mentally stronger. It teaches us how to think, question, analyze, and make decisions.
But being educated does not mean we will never be afraid.
Fear remains a part of life.
We can understand a situation logically and still feel uncertain about the outcome. We can prepare carefully and still worry about what might happen tomorrow.
Perhaps mental strength is not about eliminating fear. It is about learning how to move forward despite it.
The More Responsibility We Take, the More We Have to Think
When we are young, our responsibilities are relatively limited. As we grow older, they gradually increase.
Career, family, finances, social responsibilities, personal goals, and the future all become part of our thinking.
The more responsibilities we accept, the more complicated our decisions become.
This is why adulthood sometimes feels so heavy. It is not necessarily because life has become worse. It is because we are carrying more things in our minds than we did before.
Everyone Sees Life Differently
Our thoughts are shaped by our surroundings, experiences, successes, failures, relationships, and circumstances.
That is why two people can experience the same situation and reach completely different conclusions.
My perspective comes from my own surroundings and experiences. Your perspective comes from yours.
Neither has to be exactly the same.
What matters is that we continue to think, learn, question, and understand.
Life Is the Biggest Subject of All
Perhaps all those subjects we studied as children were preparing us for something much bigger.
Not for an exam.
Not simply for a job.
But for life.
Life requires a little mathematics when we manage money, a little economics when we make financial decisions, a little science when we understand the world around us, a little psychology when we deal with people, and a strong sense of ethics when we decide what is right and wrong.
And unlike school, there is no final examination in life. The lessons continue as long as we live.
Maybe that is why life feels difficult even after years of education.
The more we learn, the more we realize how much there is still to understand.
What has life taught you through your own experiences? How do you see the challenges and responsibilities of everyday life?
